Youth Esports Coach

Valhallan Esports Training Arena is looking for knowledgeable, energetic, and dependable Esports Coaches who are passionate about gaming and helping young players grow both individually and as part of a team.

Our coaches do more than teach players how to improve at a video game. They provide structure, mentorship, and leadership while helping athletes develop communication, teamwork, confidence, accountability, problem-solving skills, and competitive discipline.

We are currently looking for coaches with experience in one or more of the following games:

• Marvel Rivals
• Valorant
• Fortnite
• Rocket League
• Overwatch 2
• Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
• Minecraft Bedwars
• Rainbow Six Siege
• Apex Legends

You do not need experience coaching every game listed. We are looking for individuals who have strong knowledge and experience in one or more of these titles.

Our mission is to turn a player's passion for gaming into purpose. Through structured esports training, athletes develop their gaming talents while strengthening teamwork, communication, leadership, accountability, strategic thinking, resilience, and problem-solving skills.

We proactively introduce esports to kids, teens, adults, and families so they can understand the value and opportunities that structured competitive gaming can provide. Our athletes are exposed to organized competition, collegiate esports pathways, potential scholarship opportunities, STEM and technology, cybersecurity, game development, content creation, and careers throughout the growing esports industry.

At Valhallan, we aren't simply teaching kids how to play video games. We teach, train, develop, and grow athletes through gaming, helping them turn passion into purpose and skills developed in esports into skills they can carry into college, careers, and the real world.

Key Responsibilities

Competitive Development: Help players improve their ranked performance while developing the habits required for organized team competition.

VOD & Strategy Review: Review gameplay, identify opportunities for improvement, and teach athletes how to analyze their own performance.

Curriculum: Learn and deliver Valhallan's structured training and character-development programs.

Life Skills: Reinforce teamwork, leadership, communication, accountability, discipline, resilience, and sportsmanship.

Arena Operations: Prepare PCs, launch software, troubleshoot minor technical issues, and maintain an organized training environment.

Parent Communication: Keep parents informed regarding player progress, participation, league schedules, and team development.

Community Support: Assist with trials, events, tournaments, school outreach, camps, and other community initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Strong knowledge and competitive understanding of at least one of the games Valhallan is currently recruiting coaches for.
• Ability to explain strategies, mechanics, and complex gaming concepts in a way young players can understand.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring youth.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback while maintaining a positive environment.
• Strong understanding of teamwork, communication, sportsmanship, and competitive play.
• Dependable, organized, and able to lead structured practices.
• Comfortable working with players of different ages, experience levels, personalities, and skill levels.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches and Valhallan staff.
• Passion for esports and an interest in helping young gamers develop their talents.
• Youth coaching or mentoring experience highly valued
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Patient, professional, dependable, and encouraging
• Basic PC troubleshooting knowledge
• Must pass a standard background check
