VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR (New Home Construction program)

Position Details

This is a full-time position and reports directly to the Construction Assistant Manager.

Schedule

  • 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and Saturday
  • 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday

Volunteer Coordination and Construction Responsibilities

  • Work with the Construction Manager to schedule the construction volunteer groups and activities.
  • Monitor emails and phone calls and respond to volunteer questions.
  • Manage volunteer management software for the New Home Construction Program.
  • Send thank-you emails to group leaders and key volunteers following each volunteer activity.
  • Welcome volunteer groups at construction sites, thank them for their service and offer a prayer.
  • Lead volunteer groups on Saturdays as needed to support New Home Construction.
  • Recruit and schedule volunteers for special projects, including Thrivent, corporate and church builds.
  • Work with the Construction Manager to develop schedules for corporate, church and other sponsored builds.
  • Take photos of volunteer groups at job sites and post weekly social media updates.
  • Assist superintendents at construction sites as needed.
  • Coordinate with Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) to post Collegiate Challenge opportunities and manage participating groups while they work with the affiliate.

Church and Community Relations

  • Communicate with volunteers about potential donor opportunities.
  • Provide information about Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity (COHFH) during occasional meetings with corporate representatives.
  • Work with church and civic groups as requested and assigned by the Chair/CEO.

Misc.

  • Alternate with the Critical Home Repair Program Volunteer Coordinator in attending sweat-equity volunteer meetings with New Home Construction Program, and meet homeowners and explain the sweat-equity volunteer requirements and expectations.
  • Work with other staff and help organize the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner.
  • Answer phones at the front desk along side the Executive Assistant.
  • Perform additional tasks as may be deemed appropriate.
