Cabinet Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cabinet Technician to join our installation team. The primary purpose of this role is to install, assemble, and finish cabinetry and related fixtures at residential and commercial job sites, ensuring high-quality workmanship, accurate fit, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate excels at installation tasks, follows technical drawings and specifications, works safely, and communicates effectively with project managers and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installation of cabinets, countertops, hardware, and accessories according to plans and specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, elevations, and job-specific installation guides to determine layout and fit.
  • Measure, mark, cut, and adjust cabinetry and components to ensure precise alignment and secure fit.
  • Assemble cabinet units in-shop or on-site using hand and power tools; install hinges, slides, and hardware.
  • Operate air drills, rivet guns, and other power tools as required for efficient installation and fastening.
  • Verify structural anchoring, level, and plumb of installed cabinetry; make field modifications as needed to achieve a finished appearance.
  • Apply trim, moldings, and finishing details; perform touch-ups and minor repair work to ensure a polished final product.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to maintain schedules, access, and site cleanliness.
  • Document work completed, materials used, and any job-site issues; report delays or defects promptly.
  • Follow company safety protocols and maintain clean, organized work areas and tool inventory.

Qualifications

  • Experience in cabinet installation, including site measurements, fitting, and finishing or related.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools commonly used in cabinetry and installation work.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, templates, and installation instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to make accurate on-site adjustments.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation for travel to multiple job sites; ability to work flexible hours as project schedules require.
  • Physically able to lift and maneuver heavy materials, climb ladders, and work in variable site conditions.
  • Nice to have: experience in manufacturing environments or cabinet shop operations.
  • Nice to have: prior experience operating air drills and rivet guns for efficient fastening and production.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with rivet installation techniques and other specialty fastening methods.
