Zurich Group Investment Management, Inc. (ZGIM), part of Zurich North America, is looking for an Investment Accounting & Reporting Associate Director to join our Investment Administration and Accounting (IAA) team in Parsippany, NJ.

- Own the investment subledger; leading and overseeing subledger activities, applying deep expertise in security accounting, valuation and posting logic, and keeping system processes accurately configured and running
- Deliver a smooth close, every cycle; executing and reviewing monthly close and reporting, including monthly and quarterly investment reports for internal stakeholders, auditors and business partners
- Be the escalation point; taking on complex issues, performing advanced review, getting to the true root cause and driving corrective action through to the end
- Bring senior technical judgement; to perform the monthly hard-close cycle, making sure investment accounting results land on time and to a high standard
- Put your technical depth to work; applying IFRS, US Statutory (NAIC), US GAAP and US Tax knowledge to analyze instrument behavior, validate results, share insights and resolve audit or reporting queries
- Prepare and review NAIC statutory investment schedules; keeping reporting accurate and compliant as NAIC requirements evolve
- Ensure proper tax inputs; preparing, reviewing and validating US Tax reporting data, tax basis calculations and tax schedules in line with IRS rules
- Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives; that strengthen reporting quality, sharpen internal controls and make the end-to-end process genuinely more effective
- Drive digitalization and automation; with tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, Python and AI agents to lift data accuracy, timeliness and productivity
- Strengthening the foundations; developing and maintaining internal controls and quality assurance across all investment accounting and reporting activities
- Grow the people around you; coaching Associates, building their analytical capability and making sure accounting policies and control standards are applied consistently across the team
- Bachelor’s Degree in Investment Accounting or Finance with 5 or more years of experience OR
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 7-10+ years of experience in the Investment Accounting or Finance area AND
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of US GAAP, US Statutory & US Tax accounting principles
- A professional accounting designation; CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent
- 2+ years of post-qualified accounting or investment accounting experience
- Public accounting background
- CFA designation
- Platform know-how; SAP, BW or other investment subledger and reporting platforms
- Extensive Investment products understanding; fixed income, equities, structured products, private debt and alternative assets
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset; you spot issues early and improve things rather than work around them
- Independence under pressure; comfortable owning competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making instincts
- Clear written and verbal communication; you make complex information easy to follow
- Data analytics strength; using Excel and BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau to support decisions and create real business value
- Influence and stakeholder skills; aligning cross-functional teams and supporting decisions across Finance, Investment Management and Operations
- A coaching instinct; helping Associates grow their technical skills and apply standards consistently
- Transformation experience; driving automation and operational excellence in investment accounting or reporting
- Curiosity about emerging technology, including the practical use of AI, to drive innovation and continuous improvement
Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply—your unique background matters to us.
The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed salary range for this position is $94,750 - $155,125, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
