Performs work related to line locating, leak survey, collections, or meter reading activities ?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"? Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive and maintain company vehicle. Load, unload, and operate tools and equipment including but not limited to:
    • Crescent and pipe wrenches
    • Pliers and screwdrivers
    • Meters and regulators
    • Combustible gas indicators
    • Ladders
    • Carbon Monoxide Detectors
    • No Blow Equipment
    • FI Units
    • Power tools
    • Probe Bar
  • Assist with pipeline locating using conductive, inductive and mark by measurement.
  • Adhere to Line locating procedures and maintain compliance with OKIE 811 law.
  • Turn gas service off, remove meters, install ERTs
  • Inspect, calibrate, maintain, and/or repair line locating and leakage survey tools and equipment as applicable.
  • Patrol and maintain pipeline markers. Complete encroachment investigations as applicable.
  • Read gas meters; enter/record data utilizing handheld electronic meter reading equipment.
  • Respond to line locate emergencies.
  • Complete and/or update reports including but not limited to:
    • Equipment maintenance reports
    • Mileage reports
    • Time sheets
    • GIS Applications
    • Gas Leaks and work logs
  • Assist with leakage surveys on pipelines as applicable.
  • Install, program and troubleshoot electronic reader transmitters (ERTs).
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
  • Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

Experience

  • This role typically calls for up to two years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and/or training related to disconnects and gas piping.
  • Demonstrated ability in use, function, and maintenance of tools applicable to position.
  • Experience with the application of basic arithmetic:
    • addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Knowledge of transmission and distribution pipeline system operations.
  • Knowledge of leakage survey procedures as applicable.
  • Knowledge relative to:
    • Customer service and safety procedures
    • Use of electronic communications and Pragma CAD system as applicable
    • Characteristics of natural gas
  • Experience and knowledge of basic computer usage and applicable computer software.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, plats, atlas pages, pipe sizing tables, flow charts, house numbers, dials, gauges, work logs, service orders, and applicable operation and repair manuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.

Licenses and Certifications

Applicable driver's license required.
