About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established public accounting firm in the Louisville area, is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join its growing team. This position offers the opportunity to take a lead role in a variety of tax, accounting, and advisory engagements while working directly with clients and firm leadership.

Unlike firms with a highly specialized focus, this role provides exposure across tax planning and compliance, financial statement work, client advisory services, year-end planning, estate planning, and trust-related engagements. Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and other tax returns
• Research tax issues and provide recommendations on tax planning strategies
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients on tax and accounting matters
• Assist with financial statement preparation and related accounting engagements
• Perform and review audit, review, and compilation procedures as assigned
• Prepare and review workpapers in accordance with professional standards
• Analyze financial data and ensure accuracy of client financial records
• Collaborate with partners and firm leadership on complex client engagements
• Support year-end planning, estate planning, trust services, and advisory projects
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members as needed
• Draft reports, correspondence, and client deliverables
• Manage multiple client engagements and ensure deadlines are met
• Stay current on tax legislation, GAAP, and industry developments

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 5+ years of public accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on tax preparation and planning
• Experience preparing and reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns
• Exposure to financial statement preparation, client accounting services, or assurance engagements preferred
• Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations
• Ability to research complex tax issues and provide practical solutions
• Experience managing client relationships and multiple engagements simultaneously
• Proficiency with accounting and tax software
• Excellent communication, organizational, and client service skills
• CPA designation or CPA-track preferred, but not required
