Position Summary
The Florida Assisted Living Association (FALA) is seeking a creative, organized, and results-oriented Education & Communications Manager to support the administration of the association’s education portfolio, manage the association’s marketing communications, support the association’s local chapters throughout the state, and is capable of setting priorities when multiple demands are present. This position reports directly to the Director of Professional Development.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree is preferred, or 2-4 years equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related role; association or nonprofit experience is a plus.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and channels.
- Experience developing email campaigns, social media content, website updates, and digital marketing materials.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of email marketing platforms, such as Constant Contact, content management systems, social media tools, and analytics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic graphic design tools, such as Canva.
- Experience with association management software (AMS), such as Novi.
- Experience with learning management software (LMS), such as Thinkific.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, members, vendors, and consumers.
- Ability to work independently and with little supervision.
- Ability to travel occasionally for conference, events, and meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate live, online, and virtual classes, as well as webinars, with Director of Professional Development and trainers; secure live class locations; build and post classes in AMS or LMS platforms and on website; develop and manage all class marketing communications; manage registrations and ensure delivery of course materials to students; produce and distribute CEU certificates.
- Manage the association’s social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to drive community engagement and brand awareness.
- Coordinate the production and distribution of FALA’s regular member communications and publications, including daily eblasts and social media posts.
- Coordinate the development and publication of the association’s monthly newsletter and quarterly magazine, including content planning, contributor coordination, and production timelines.
- Serve as staff liaison to the association’s 16 chapters throughout the state, providing support in scheduling local monthly meetings, finding host sites, speakers, sponsors, etc. Create and post all upcoming chapter meetings on website; send event registration information to members, non-members, etc.; manage registrations and ensure appropriate payments are remitted. Communicate directly with chapter leadership and Region Directors on chapter-related matters. Assist with the annual election of chapter leadership.
- Work with team members in the development of the association’s Annual Conference & Tradeshow website; create and manage the conference event registration platform; assist with incoming and onsite registrations; develop and manage conference marketing campaigns; post live communications from conference.
- Work with association leadership and the Education Committee to develop and coordinate the education agenda for the Annual Conference & Tradeshow; issue and manage the call for speaker presentations; assist with selecting and securing speakers and serve as onsite speaker coordinator; produce and distribute post-conference CEU certificates.
- Work directly with the association’s Membership Manager on annual membership renewals and ongoing new member recruitment campaigns.
- Develop and manage the association’s social media content calendar and day-to-day presence across relevant platforms.
- Create, review, and/or update website content to ensure information is current and easy to navigate.
- Create and coordinate development of basic graphics, marketing collateral, and event materials to help maintain the association’s brand standards.
- Second point of contact for all incoming calls.
