Location: Remote or Hybrid – Pacific Northwest
Travel: Approximately once per month to Anchorage, Alaska
Compensation: $150,000–$200,000 DOE annually + bonus

The Opportunity
We are partnering with a healthcare organization seeking an experienced Vice President of Finance & Controller to serve as its senior financial leader and a key member of the executive leadership team.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will lead the finance and accounting function while serving as a strategic business partner across the organization. This role combines executive-level financial leadership with full Controller responsibility, making it ideal for someone who can move comfortably between strategic decision-making and hands-on financial oversight.
Healthcare finance experience is required. The successful candidate must understand healthcare revenue cycle management, reimbursement, payer dynamics, collections, and bad debt and be able to connect those areas to the organization’s broader financial and operational performance.
The right leader will do more than report the numbers. They will understand the story behind them, identify trends and risks, ask the right questions, and provide leadership with clear, practical recommendations.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Financial & Executive Leadership Serve as the senior financial advisor to the CEO and a collaborative member of the executive leadership team.
- Provide financial insight and recommendations surrounding strategic initiatives, investments, contracts, operational changes, and other significant business decisions.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, financial modeling, and long-range financial planning.
- Deliver timely financial reporting and analysis of performance, variances, cost trends, and operational drivers.
- Develop and monitor financial and operational metrics that give leadership meaningful visibility into organizational performance.
- Partner with department leaders to strengthen financial understanding, accountability, and budget ownership.
- Controller & Accounting Oversight Maintain accountability for the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s financial records and financial statements.
- Oversee general ledger, AP, AR, payroll accounting, fixed assets, cash management, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintain strong accounting policies, procedures, documentation, internal controls, and segregation of duties.
- Lead the annual external audit and maintain year-round audit readiness.
- Oversee preparation of financial reporting and analysis for the CEO, executive leadership, and Board.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, processes, automation, controls, and workflows.
- Healthcare Finance & Revenue Cycle Provide financial leadership around revenue cycle performance, including reimbursement, payer trends, denials, underpayments, collections, and bad debt.
- Partner with operational, clinical, and billing leaders to evaluate revenue performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze the financial impact of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer, and other reimbursement trends.
- Support improvements related to documentation, charge capture, billing, collections, and reimbursement.
- Connect healthcare revenue cycle performance to broader operational and strategic decision-making.
- Team Leadership Lead, develop, and support the accounting team with clear expectations and accountability.
- Foster a collaborative, responsive, and solutions-oriented Finance function.
- Build strong relationships across departments and ensure leaders receive timely and useful financial support.
- Create a culture focused on accuracy, communication, continuous improvement, and shared accountability.
- What We’re Looking ForHealthcare finance experience is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience, including responsibility for financial reporting and accounting operations.
- Strong Controller-level experience with general ledger oversight, month-end/year-end close, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, GAAP, internal controls, and external audits.
- Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle management, reimbursement, collections, and bad debt.
- Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, cash-flow planning, and financial reporting.
- Experience partnering directly with executive and operational leadership.
- Experience working with external auditors and supporting Board-level financial reporting.
- Ability to translate complex financial information into clear business insights and recommendations.
- Proven ability to lead and develop accounting and finance professionals.
- Preferred CPA or CMA designation.
- Experience within air medical transport, EMS, healthcare services, hospital finance, or a related healthcare environment.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer reimbursement, and healthcare billing practices.

Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and overall alignment with the position.
Location & Travel
This position is available on a remote or hybrid basis for candidates located within the Pacific Northwest.
Travel to the organization’s Anchorage, Alaska headquarters approximately once per month is required.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced healthcare finance leader who wants the ability to influence an organization at the executive level while maintaining ownership of the financial and accounting function.
