Compensation: $46,000 - $52,000 / year

We have an exciting opportunity for a Food Laboratory Technician to join us working on-site at the Mars Wrigley Consumer Co-Creating Center in Chicago!

The Lab Technician will report to the Sensory Associate Director, assisting them to ensure that sensory and consumer projects run smoothly by participating in activities related to the sensory panels’ sessions, sensory laboratory operations, and consumer taste tests.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep the sensory kitchen and lab running smoothly by managing stock, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.
• Prepare, organise, and set up product samples for sensory panel and consumer testing sessions.
• Source and manage products, ingredients, and sensory references to support research activities.
• Ensure accurate product labelling, documentation, and storage of test materials.
• Maintain clean, organised testing environments and uphold food hygiene standards.
• Support consumer taste tests and sensory panels, including occasional flexibility in working hours.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and professional team culture

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
• Flexible and adaptable, with a hands-on approach and strong sense of accountability.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Previous experience in a laboratory, food service, or sensory testing environment is desirable.
• Able to undertake the physical aspects of the role, including standing for extended periods and lifting light materials when required
