Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Lexington, Kentucky

Salary: $185,000–$220,000 annually

Employment Type: Full-time

Our client is an established, full-service engineering, architectural, and

geospatial consulting firm serving federal, state, municipal, and private-sector clients across the country.

They're known for technical depth, personal service, and long-term client relationships — and they're looking for a

Senior Electrical Design Engineer to help lead the next chapter.

The Role

You'll work alongside architectural, mechanical, and structural teams to lead electrical design and

construction administration on complex building and infrastructure projects — including facilities pursuing LEED and

Net Zero Energy standards.

What You'll Do

- Lead electrical design for power distribution, lighting, telecommunications, and related building systems

- Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing, and system selection

- Provide construction administration throughout project delivery

- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients

- Manage project resources, schedules, and budgets

- Mentor junior engineers and support their technical growth

- Ensure designs comply with applicable building, electrical, and fire codes

What You Bring

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)

- Active PE license in at least one state, with ability to obtain reciprocity in others

- 15+ years of electrical design and construction administration experience in a consulting environment

- Experience mentoring junior engineers

- Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills

- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; Revit experience preferred

- Experience with VisualPro, AGI32, or SKM PowerTools a plus

- Military, justice, or water-treatment facility experience a plus

- LEED or Green Globes project experience a plus
