Integrated Circuit CAD Manager
Job Description: The CAD Manager is responsible for the maintenance and evolution of our IC design environment. Duties include maintaining Linux based engineering workstations, keeping various CAD tools up to date, managing the engineering revision control system, supporting the design team and interfacing with EDA and Fab vendors to maintain tools and PDKs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with design teams, IT and EDA vendors to set up, maintain and evolve our computer and software systems to efficiently use various CAD tools
- Prepare documentation of the design flows and usage and provide to designers
- Evaluate and deploy foundry provided PDKs to enable IC designs in new processes
- Work with IC design EDA vendors and foundries to support PDK issues and provide workarounds if needed to avoid potential interruptions
- Evaluate new CAD tools and provide feedback to management and engineering team
- Develop automation scripts to enhance productivity and minimize risks
- Provide day-to-day support for designers on tool and flow issues or questions
Required Education & Work Experience: Bachelor’s degree in information technology or electrical/computer engineering and a minimum of five years of IC CAD management experience.
Required Attributes
- US person status required for this position, pursuant to the terms of government contracts with Senseeker*
- Proficient in both Linux and Windows operating systems
- Working knowledge of IC CAD tools and foundry PDKs, primarily experience with Siemens Calibre tools to perform physical verification tasks (DRC, LVS, PEX)
- Excellent teamwork skills, good written and verbal communication
- Organized and methodical work approach and documentation
Desired Attributes
· Experience in setting up servers and networks to run various CAD tools and handling large number of files such as those in Open Access design environments
· Working knowledge of revision control software and experience in setting up and maintaining license servers
· Experience in Siemens EDA design flow with multiple foundry PDKs
· Experience in automation of repetitive tasks with the use of scripts (experience with tcl is a plus)
Job Type and Location: Full-time in Santa Barbara, CA, USA
Salary Range: $150,000 to $210,000 annually depending on education and experience
