Role Overview

We are hiring a Retail Inventory Auditor to support inventory control, auditing, reporting, and asset integrity across assigned retail locations. This role focuses on identifying inventory discrepancies, analyzing shrink issues, supporting corrective actions, and partnering with location and cross-functional teams to improve inventory management practices. Frequent travel is required to conduct inventory counts and audits at assigned locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct semi-annual full inventory audits and counts across assigned facilities.

• Support the relocation of market stores and onboarding of new acquisitions.

• Collaborate with location managers to resolve inventory discrepancies and promote inventory management best practices.

• Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including accounting, marketing, purchasing, and showroom operations.

• Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly inventory status reports by location and relevant categories.

• Consolidate and submit audit results to the appropriate supervisor following each audit.

• Review monthly showroom shrink and related costs and provide reports as required.

• Assist with process and procedure improvements designed to reduce inventory shrink and optimize working capital.

• Investigate and resolve inventory issues promptly in partnership with location managers.

• Maintain proficiency in computerized inventory systems and related inventory processes.

• Travel frequently to assigned locations by car and/or air to conduct inventory counts and audits.

• Identify and report inventory management execution failures to appropriate management.

• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of inventory adjustments within the Storis operating system.

• Prepare comprehensive inventory audit reports and review findings with local management to improve practices and reduce shrink.

• Conduct root cause analysis of inventory shrink issues and ensure location management develops and submits corrective action plans.

• Collaborate with supervisors to review and approve corrective action plans before results are reported to senior leadership.

• Identify and report observed security risks through the established audit reporting process.

• Complete full reconciliation of inventory shrink across assigned locations.

• Guide location managers in maintaining inventory integrity by identifying process breakdowns and raising awareness of best practices.

• Ensure assigned locations remain audit-ready through pre-inventory checklists and scheduled inventory communications before and during audits.

• Maintain reliable attendance and participate actively in departmental meetings, training, and educational programs.

• Assist with employee training, provide backup support, and complete special projects or other assignments as requested.

• Demonstrate organizational values and professional standards in the performance of all job functions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• One to two years of experience in inventory management or a related operations field.

• Experience using RF scanning equipment.

• Strong ability to administer and manage assigned programs effectively.

• Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and operational standards.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret information, identify root causes, draw valid conclusions, and recommend solutions.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, proposals, and analyses.

• Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and make sound decisions under pressure.

• Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills with employees and management at all levels.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel spreadsheets, internet-based tools, and computerized document management systems.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate inventory records.

• Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects within established time constraints.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Working knowledge of continuous improvement practices.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive business information appropriately.
