Position Summary
A Cafeteria Attendant/Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, organization and food service in the Colleague Dining Room. This will include, stocking buffets, ensuring the cleanliness of the dining room, stocking and requisitioning supplies, monitoring food temperature and quality, answering questions about the menu. Responsibilities will also include maintaining the cleanliness of hotel china, silverware, and cookware.
Schedule: 10:00am-7:30pm scheduled days will vary and will include weekends/holidays

Qualifications

- Candidates should have at least 1 year of cafeteria or similar experience is preferred.
- Previous work experience in a similar fast-paced environment
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication and time management skills
- Superior customer service skills along with the capability of working both autonomously and as part of a team
- This position involves standing on feet for long periods of time and requires the ability to lift, push and carry moderate amounts of weight.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Education & Experience
- One year certificate or higher from college or technical school preferred; 2 years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
- Must possess fluent use of the English language.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations.
- Ability to effectively communicate with senior leadership, managers and co-workers, clients and guests.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
- Ability to think and reason strategically to establish goals and objectives on a regular basis.
- Ability to assess, recommend and act to maintain company standards and meet organizational expectations.
- Ability and sensitivity to customize and individualize responses to situations for each guest or staff member in alignment to the standards and values of Miraval Culinary and F&B Departments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift, push and/or pull 50 pounds or more on a daily basis.
- Ability to reach with arms and hands and bend at the waist when necessary.
- Ability to use fine motor skills in manipulating knives in food preparation.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Equipment Used in Job: Commercial kitchen equipment and cleaning agents
