Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Senior Paralegal to support Social Security and disability claims. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing client cases, preparing legal documentation, reviewing medical and vocational records, assisting with appeals and hearings, and providing direct support to attorneys and clients throughout the claims process.
The successful candidate should have excellent communication and organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish, organize, and manage client disability and Social Security claims.
- Prepare and submit required legal and case-related paperwork.
- Monitor case status and provide timely updates to clients.
- Handle client communications through email, telephone, and written correspondence.
- Review, organize, and analyze medical and vocational records.
- Prepare medical timelines and documentation for appeals.
- Assist attorneys with hearings, case preparation, and related proceedings.
- Track important deadlines, meetings, hearings, and court appearances.
- Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
- Provide professional, compassionate, and responsive support to clients.
- Identify and resolve case-related issues using strategic and creative problem-solving skills.
- Work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and team members.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher, paralegal experience, or Social Security/disability experience.
- Legal experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize competing deadlines.
- Strong Microsoft Office and word-processing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong strategic and creative problem-solving abilities.
