Production Operations Manager

Albany, NY | $100,000–$110,000 annually | Full-Time | Fully Onsite

We are hiring an experienced Production Operations Manager to lead supervisors and production employees within a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. You will oversee daily production, staffing, safety, quality, costs, and continuous-improvement efforts while ensuring customer orders are completed accurately and on time.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead production supervisors and hourly employees.
  • Coordinate staffing and production schedules.
  • Monitor safety, quality, efficiency, downtime, waste, and costs.
  • Ensure customer orders meet production and delivery requirements.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions.
  • Identify operational problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Enforce GMP, sanitation, food-safety, and workplace-safety requirements.
  • Prepare the facility for regulatory inspections.
  • Monitor production supplies and equipment inventory.
  • Lead shift meetings and communicate operational priorities.
  • Recruit, train, coach, schedule, and evaluate employees.
  • Address performance concerns and employee-relations matters.
  • Prepare production reports for plant leadership.
  • Provide backup support to the Plant Manager.

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Degree in manufacturing, operations, business, engineering, food science, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Previous production supervisory or management experience.
  • Food, beverage, dairy, or regulated manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing supervisors and hourly production employees.
  • Knowledge of GMP, food safety, sanitation, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Understanding of production scheduling, process flow, labor planning, inventory, and cost control.
  • Experience with SOPs and continuous improvement.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to communicate production, quality, and safety requirements.
