GIS Analyst

Effectively utilize Python scripts, ModelBuilder, or ArcGIS analysis tools to create maps, digitize polygons, communicate with clients, quality control mapped polygons, and support other GIS Specialists in a team effort to meet company and client needs.
This position plays a key role in providing GIS mapping services to our clients. The ability to utilize technical tools, communicate with team members, communicate with clients, quality control mapping layers, meet project goals, and perform necessary actions are required. The ability to collaborate and a high attention to detail are expected.
Essential Functions
- Member of Data Products Team along with:
- Product Manager
- GIS Technicians
- Data Products: Maintenance, Enhancement and Quality Control for the following Whitestar core data products:
- ParcelSD, ParcelsHD, ParcelsHD+
- WellsHD
- CultureHD
- Customer Service: Process, delivery and tech support:
- Subscription based products
- ParcelSD, ParcelsHD, ParcelsHD+
- WellsHD
- CultureHD
- TrueGRID
- Monitor LiveChat communication
- Redirect sales inquiries to appropriate team member
- Support technical inquiries: data and software
- Define or expand upon existing Whitestar data product schemas
- Create or modify translations between data sources and final Whitestar delivery schemas
- Troubleshoot, repair and enhance data preparation workflows and processes
- Create user accounts for tailored web services and data access
- Perform quality assurance and document steps for all work
- Investigate new tools, methods, or techniques that enhance and add value to our data in the near- and long-term
- Lead customer demos and discussions around all Whitestar products and services
- Other tasks as they may be assigned from time to time
Requirements
- Leadership and insight
- Software proficiency including AWS Workspaces, Windows OS, Esri stack, FME (Safe Software), Navicat, EmEditor, SQL, Python, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Regular Expressions, GeoServer & Open-Source GIS, Perl, Linux, CLI, Whitestar Products, MS Office
- Experience with ArcGIS server and desktop products
- Experience with FOSS products including GeoServer
- Experience with Safe Software FME
- Python scripting experience
- Database design, tuning, troubleshooting & techniques
- Customer Service skills including training and troubleshooting
- Teaching and Training skills for technical staff
Experience
- 5+ Years of experience in a GIS role or equivalent experience
- GISP is a plus
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/GIS/Geography
